IMI’s Industrial Automation sector has significantly expanded its assembly facility in Žamberk, Czech Republic tripling its operational footprint to support rising global demand for bespoke engineered system solutions across key vertical markets.
The site has grown from its original 300m² footprint established in 2018 to 1,000m² today, reflecting sustained growth and increasing customer requirements for high-value, customised automation assemblies. The expansion strengthens IMI’s ability to deliver faster project turnaround times and enhanced service levels to industrial automation OEMs and end users operating in technically demanding sectors.
Supporting high-growth vertical markets
The Žamberk assembly plant specialises in the design and build of customised system solutions for industries including mobile pneumatics, rail and food and beverage processing.
With expanded assembly capacity and optimised workflows, customers can access reduced lead times, accelerated order completion, and improved project responsiveness - critical factors in sectors where downtime, compliance and performance are paramount.
End-to-end engineering expertise under one roof
IMI’s Žamberk Industrial Automation team combines deep application knowledge with integrated engineering capability, enabling a partnership approach from project inception through to commissioning. By bringing mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, and programmable control expertise together at a single site, IMI customers can streamline development cycles, reduce complexity and mitigate supply chain risk.
The expansion reinforces IMI’s strategic focus on collaborative engineering, working closely with customers to understand operational challenges and develop tailored solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce total cost of ownership and optimise performance.
Dusan Hejna, Sales Director Eastern Europe, Industrial Automation at IMI, commented: "The expansion of our Žamberk assembly site means we are better positioned than ever to meet the evolving needs of our customers. Increasing our operational capacity directly translates into faster access to the bespoke solutions our customers need. We work alongside our partners to understand specific challenges, then co-develop bespoke systems that deliver measurable benefits, from cost reduction to improved efficiency.
“By tripling the operational footprint at Žamberk, IMI is making a clear investment in service capability, engineering excellence and long-term collaboration with our customers.”
