Automation and control systems specialist, CMR Philippines, has been won a contract to supply and install new power monitoring technology at one of South East Asia’s largest cement production plants.
The scope of work at the Holcim Lugait cement works in Misamis Oriental in the Philippines, which currently produces 2.13 million tonnes of cement a year, covers the development, delivery, installation, testing and networking of the electrical installation for a major new upgrade of power monitoring capabilities.
Current and voltage transformers are be supplied as part of a comprehensive package of engineering support that also sees CMR completing the integration and connection of plant wide power monitoring to Siemens PCS 7 process control technology.
The contract comes as Holcim Philippines is investing almost US$300m in increasing its production capacity across all its plants by 30% to 13Mt a year by 2020.
This includes upgrading the Misamis Oriental site with the installation of new kilns, mills and waste heat recovery systems in a move to support the country’s economic development and robust construction sector.
The Holcim Lugait work comes as CMR continues to expand the scope of operations for manufacturers requiring control, monitoring and BMS technologies to provide critical operational reliability and performance requirements in harsh production environments.
Rojel Rivera, general manager at CMR PH, said: “Winning the Holcim contract reflects the expertise we can bring to successfully delivering complex and technologically advanced industrial projects.
“Our expansive yet integrated approach enables us to secure added value solutions through advanced, cost effective and fully integrated control and monitoring systems.”
