Nordomatic strengthens UK presence with strategic acquisition of Building Environment Control Ltd. (BEC)

Nordomatic continues to execute on its ambitious global growth strategy with the acquisition of Building Environment Control Ltd. (BEC), a UK-based company with a strong reputation in innovation and long-standing customer relationships.

Nordomatic, the world’s largest independent provider of Building Management Systems (BMS) and iBOS solutions, has acquired Building Environment Control Ltd. (BEC), based in Newcastle- under-Lyme, UK. With 17 employees and an annual turnover of GBP 4.639 million, BEC will become an integrated part of Nordomatic UK under the leadership of Mark Allen.

The acquisition is a natural step in Nordomatic’s overarching strategy to strengthen its UK setup as part of a broader ambition to build a strong global presence and position. Over the past years, Nordomatic has expanded significantly in the UK, gaining valuable experience and insight into how to be most relevant and competitive in the market. While the UK is a highly attractive and strategically important market in itself, this move should be seen in the context of Nordomatic’s global growth plan – where expanding in the UK plays a key role in realising the company’s long-term ambitions. BEC brings proven expertise, a solid reputation for being ahead in innovation, and strong customer relations across key sectors such as healthcare, airports, hotels, and universities.

A purpose-driven step forward

For Toke Kjær Juul, Group CEO of Nordomatic, the acquisition is much more than a business deal:

“Nordomatic is a purpose-driven company with a clear strategy – and for us, action really matters. Our ambition in the UK has been to identify where we can create the greatest impact, and we are now executing on that. Over the past years, we have expanded significantly in the UK and built valuable experience on how to be most relevant in this market. The acquisition of BEC is a perfect fit for our future plans. BEC has built an agile and highly experienced organisation with a strong management team and a reputation for innovation. Combined with their attractive geographic location and customer portfolio, they strengthen Nordomatic’s position in the UK significantly. This is a great example of our philosophy in practice: Change today. Impact tomorrow.”

Strong reinforcement of Nordomatic UK

Mark Allen, Managing Director of Nordomatic UK, highlights the strategic importance of the acquisition:

“We are extremely pleased to welcome BEC into Nordomatic UK. This is a significant reinforcement, bringing new competences and knowledge while further strengthening our existing capabilities across both segments and products. BEC’s long-standing customer relationships in healthcare, airports, hotels, and universities provide an excellent complement to our business and will help accelerate our growth journey in the UK.”

Excitement from BEC

On behalf of the BEC team, CEO Nick Payne adds:

“We are truly excited about this opportunity – it is the right way forward for BEC and the natural next step in bringing our business to the next level. Joining Nordomatic allows both

companies to learn from each other, creating great potential on both sides. Over the years we have built a highly attractive customer base and delivered prestigious projects, focussing on innovation being delivered with our very best engineering know how. With Nordomatic, we now gain access to a stronger supplier network and a global organisation – and we couldn’t be more enthusiastic about the future.”
